In my last post I shared my job search criteria.
Now for the big reveal …. Drum roll please.
In November, I began a new journey with Haus as a senior software engineering manager. Haus.io is a series A company which currently offers Geolift, which does geographical hold out testing on ad spend to evaluate the efficacy of that spend. This product has been a great success in the market, and marketers rely on Haus for incrementality testing.
While incrementality testing helps prove the effectiveness of channel spend, a recurring topic from our customers is when would Haus build an MMM (Marketing Mixed Model) to help optimize spend across channels. While Haus entertained the notion of what a marketing mixed model would look like that was built with experiments in mind, I was interviewing with them. Of course, the new product was not discoverable during the interview, other than that we’re working on spinning up a new team to deliver a new product. I took a bet based upon the team members which I met and the strength of the leadership team in the space, I was convinced Haus was a special place.
I am always a bit skeptical when I join a new company. Can I really recruit folks in good conscience to the place based upon how that company aligns (or doesn’t) with my principles for how to treat employees? My skepticism isn’t some ideological stance, I have recruited folks to new roles on newly formed teams that turned out to be not as rosy as I thought in the first couple of months. So, now, since I have been here for three months, I can confidently see the opportunity, the passion and the plan to get there.
I am often drawn to new problem spaces, and new products when looking for a new role. Some of it I attribute to my big picture processing, where I am able to have an outsized impact on the customer flows, and the opportunity to simplify the experience. It’s exciting to collaborate with brilliant peers to make the best possible product for the market. This is one of those opportunities, and I am truly honored to be in this place. Haus just announced the new cMMM product, which is what my team is working on.
So, to the good part, I’m looking for software engineers, specifically, full-stack (React, Python/Flask), and data engineers. This is a great opportunity to build from the ground up.
Looking to start from the ground floor, come join me in this journey.
